¿What is the "H" Distinctive?
"H" Distinctive is a recognition for food and beverage fixed establishments granted by the Ministry of Tourism and endorsed by the Ministry of Health to those complying with Hygiene and Quality Standards established by the Mexican Standard NMX-F-605-2004 Alimentos - Manejo Higiénico en el Servicio de Alimentos Preparados para la Obtención del Distintivo "H" (Food - Hygiene in Service of Prepared Food to Get "H" Distinctive)

"H" Program starts in 1990 and in 2001 became a Mexican Standard. The present Standard came into effect on December 12, 2004.

Its purpose is to promote all the time the quality in products and services applying the Good Hygiene and Health Practices in order to reduce the frequency of Diseases Transmitted through Food (ETA's in Spanish) for home and foreign tourist, as well as to improve the image of Mexico worldwide.
